A Training Manual for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities on the Convention on Biological Diversity - Module 1

The training manual has been prepared in response to the requests in decisions X/40, XII/12 and XIII/23 of the Conference of the Parties to facilitate capacity development activities for indigenous peoples and local communities. The training manual is intended to engage trainers, at the local level, in coaching new trainers for delivering and presenting the Convention’s work related to indigenous peoples and local communities. This training manual is the first in a three-part series. Module 2 “Training Manual for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities on Customary Sustainable Use of Biological Diversity” and Module 3 “Training Manual for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities on the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization” are scheduled to be released in 2022.
