BOLD Voices: Regenerating and Safeguarding Brazilian Bean Diversity

Embrapa Rice and Beans, with support from the Crop Trust’s #BOLDProject, has successfully regenerated 1,152 bean seed samples and safety duplicated 1,348, ensuring they remain viable and available for future use. These efforts not only preserve Brazil’s rich agricultural heritage but also contribute to global food security by backing up this invaluable diversity at the Svalbard Global Seed Vault and the Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology Gene Bank.
