Banking on indigenous seed: investing in a healthier future

In Western Kenya, researchers and farmers are conserving indigenous seeds through the use of a community seed bank and on-farm management. Farmers receive training to grow nutritiously rich indigenous crops – which not only helps the communities tackle malnutrition but also boost their incomes by selling indigenous vegetables and their seeds.
